Terminal Yard and Control Tower Executive

Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day activity of planning the Yard with minimal housekeeping and preparing for the in /out movement with strategies.
Nominate empty containers if required by the liner for bookings, share the list with box owners and manage their inventory list.
Work on 24/7 rotational shifts, act as the control tower key personnel to meet given KPI for the truck turnaround time.
Prepared to go on-ground if needed to prepare some report or to check the actual situation of real-time operations guide operators when needed.

Duties

Ensure container decking is planned to follow strictly the set yard strategy.
Maintain all yard planning-related parameters /settings in the Terminal Operating System (TOS) to ensure smooth execution of operations.
Provide an alternative plan in case of deviation /exception during execution to ensure adherence to the yard strategy and established standards.
Work closely with the yard strategist and other planning staff to ensure plans are coordinated and provide the best possible performance to the operations as a whole.
Manage the continuous process of yard integrity and ensure yard inventory between the TOS and the Yard block management system remains on par.
Responsible daily for ensuring that a proper plan is set for the yard operation to run in a manner that achieves maximum productivity and efficiency, with 100% system integrity as it relates to equipment location.
Reduce unproductive moves to the bare minimum required, reduce operational cost, resource optimization, and traffic movement.
Monitor and fine-tune the terminal operating system to ensure that yard planning is satisfactory and meets the strategy requirements.
Nominate empty equipment for shipment as directed by the concerned shipping line.
Constantly seek look for ways to improve own skill level in using the terminal operating system.
Work hand in hand with other sections of the operations to achieve the department’s goals.
Act as an active member of the Integrated forecast movement and actively collaborate with all functions therein to ensure smooth operations executions.
The key impact of this incumbent will be the maintenance of operational efficiencies in the terminal. Responsible for the execution of day-to-day operational activities.
To segregate warehouse waste follow guidelines/rules, such as schedule waste, paper, carton, etc.
To carry out 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) practices within PKT Group of Companies.
Perform any other assignments as and when requested by superior(s) and comply with the company’s rules and regulations.

Competence

Education : Diploma / Degree holder
Experience : 1 – 3 years of working experience
Skills : Microsoft Office tools
